Mi nombre es Valeria Escudero,
Estudié enfermería en España y llevo año y medio trabajando en Suiza. ¿Cómo puedo resumir en pocas líneas el trabajo en Suiza? Para empezar puedo decir que hay trabajo, mucho trabajo, recursos y además se trabaja de una forma y competencias parecidas a la de España. Si se está en posesión del título universitario y el examen de certificación de alemán nivel B2, es muy probable que en pocos días se pueda estar ya trabajando. Eso sí, antes de ello hay que hacer papeleos. Esto es Suiza y aquí tiene que estar hecho todo de manera correcta y ordenada. Como en todos sitios, hay normas y si uno se va a un nuevo país, hay que estar preparado para adaptarse a esas nuevas reglas. Pero si se está preparado, la recompensa puede ser muy grande. Si bien es cierto que aquí el nivel de vida es más caro, los sueldos también son más altos. Lo que permite con un solo trabajo mantenerse de forma adecuada.
El clima, la gente, la cultura, no son las mismas, pero tampoco muy diferentes y por varias ciudades de Suiza hay bares de españoles, donde poder ir a tomar unas tapas y hablar español. Lo mejor de todo, estamos a poca distancia de España, lo que permite también ir de visita algún fin de semana.
Así que si os encontráis en España ahora mismo en una situación que no os satisface, os animo encarecidamente a dar el salto, venir, probar, al fin y al cabo es una experiencia más y las experiencias de vida siempre enriquecen.

Place of work of the position:
direct placement with contract partners trough the whole of German Speaking Switzerland.
Main duties and responsibilities: Work as a qualified nurse (Krankenpfleger) with patients in all of the above mentioned institutions and wards.
Specific working conditions:
Nurses perform skilled tasks according to their qualifications (professional work standards)
Work time regulated in the employment contract: Indefinite contracts, fulltime – work may be in shifts, depending on the institution. A workweek contains 42 hours in Switzerland. (8,4 hours work day, irregular work time, shifts, work schedule-detailed information)
Rests regulated in the employment contract: all contracts are equal to native nurses Switzerland, in accordance with Swiss law and collective labour agreements. (rest hours per a day, rest days per a week)
Holidays: approximately 25, depending on region, up to 28 holidays
Remuneration according to the employment contract during the probationary period: depending on experience and position between +/- 4500 till 5500 CHF before taxes.
Taxes: depending on the region with a maximum of 17%
Period of probation: typically 3 months
Type of employment: the contract and its duration indefinite, it is important to find candidates who want to build their future in Switzerland! They should at least want to stay for > 1 years
Early termination of the employment contract conditions: normal conditions – termination occurs by mutual agreement or escalation
Health insurance: According to the employment contract. Health insurance should be organized by the candidate him/ herself.
Compensation in case of labour accidents, temporary or permanent disability, death: Benefits in according with respective Swiss law, insurance and collective labour agreements
Transport costs to the country and to work place: To be agreed upon individually, will be agreed once candidate advances in application process
Accommodation: to be agreed upon individually with employer once the candidate advances, it is common that a nurse can rent accommodation directly from his/her employer at low cost.
Labour permits: EU Rules apply, EU passport meets criteria -> furthermore a declaration of good health and a clean penalty/criminal record confirmation is needed.
Additional benefits for the position: Flexible shifts possible (cutting effective working time down to less than 42 hours/week) so foreign employees can visit their home country regularly. Other benefits in according with Swiss law, pension and collective labour agreements.

Requirements to the position: !! Very important: A full EU certified diploma, or non EU equivalent, (typically a three -3- year bachelor study, or a four -4- year education) as a skilled nurse, with 6 – 12 months practicle experience (6 months may be included in the study / prequalification) with a passed state exam. For the Switzerland there is B2 German level required, this will have to be proved (certificate).
The candidate has to get a ‘Obligatorische Vorprüfung’ at the Red cross in Switzerland. This is a pre-recognition of your study- and work profile. Which documents the candidate needs will be individually examined by the Red cross.
Education: typically a three -3- year bachelor study, or a four -4- year education
Work experience: Minimum of 1 year current work experience
Language skills: Level of knowledge GERMAN: B2
