The global Architecture department consists of a team of 4 architects located in Amsterdam covering infra, application and business architecture supported by two local solution architects located in Sydney and Chicago. You are part of the Amsterdam team where you will be responsible for application architecture and where needed will support the infra architect.
Job description & Deliverables
To facilitate decision making and create firm starting points for projects, the application architect documents and maintains a baseline for the application architecture covering applications in use, their relation with the business architecture components (e.g. business services and -processes), the interaction patterns between applications and use of the different hardware and middleware components.
In project start up the application architect is responsible for setting firm boundaries and guidelines for implementation of changes in the application landscape in line with global targets. Where targets are not available he will set up a target in close cooperation with the other architects.
He will act pro-actively and work closely with the solution designers in the different development teams and project management to get agreement on the targets for the project. This target project architecture is captured in an Architecture Description Document (ADD).
General
  • Masters level and at least 4 years of experience in an IT related environment.
  • Experience in the financial industry
  • Knowledge of the different aspects of IT architecture (applications, application platforms, data structures and interaction patterns, data security aspects)
  • Experience in a complex environment (internal and external stakeholders, different time zones, different cultures)
  • Knowledge and experience in architecture implementations and related methods and tools
  • Knowledge of TOGAF and Archimate
  • Experience with BizzDesign Architect or similar (Archimate based) modelling tool
  • Fluent in speaking and writing business English (leading language).

Preferable
  • Experience in global financial markets, understanding of trading, clearing, settlement and custody and related services (e.g. SBL, Financing), instruments, markets and regulators
